testing brushless motor with mm2

I have a losi mini 8ight with a dead esc and was wondering would it be safe to test the 4500kv stock motor with my mamba monster 2? I dont want to run it. Just see if the motor is good. I wasnt sure if I could test it with my mamba monster2 because of the kv rating. Dont want to fry anything lol
