Default Trimming the ESC plug

My new ESC receiver plug has a ridge on on side and won't fit my Spektrum receiver slot (JR type). Is it effective to remove ridge and still maintain conductivity? Hobby shops are few and far between up here in the Great White North and I need to get this up and running.

Thanks in advance!

Yes. Just use an Xacto knife and carefully trim the ridge off.

ahh, futaba plugs. I wish they would go away, or be standardized as it can be confusing (it was for me) trying to plug into a non futaba plug. as said, trim carefully the tab off and it should be fine.
