Dang, I wanted this tray for my 4PKS-R too.. :( Easier to use Eneloops as backup.

I also run Nitro so I use these as radio backup packs

Nice thanks for the tip. :D I currently have two Futaba factory batteries so when one of them goes bad I will definitely check out your recommendation!

I have a very big box arriving tomorrow that will be including a 4px. This will be the 3rd Futaba radio I've owned. Besides the firmware update is there anything else I should be aware of?

Dan 04-06-2015 10:54 PM

Some of the newer shipments of the 4PX have the newer firmware on it already loaded. Buddy of mines just picked up a 4PX recently and didn't have to update anything.

Danny Teh 04-07-2015 09:29 AM

some did say 1.0 better than 1.1

anyone think older is better than new one or vice versa....

I run the newer firmware with out issue.

No issue with running the latest f/w as well.

I run the new firmware and haven't had issues with any of my cars/trucks. The indoor track is about 120x75 feet or so. I run the receivers with the internal antennas.

Orion_2kTC 04-08-2015 01:57 PM

Yep, the radio came with 1.1. This damn thing is a work of art.

I just got mine last week and I haven't checked which firmware it has. I must say it is amazing. It can't believe how much more I like it than my Spektrum dx4r pro, it's superior in nearly all aspects.
