Default Servo BEC qestions.

ok i got a couple of BEC questions. right now i'm running a Savage Flux HP with TCS crawlers 5th scale TVPs. i want to upgrade to a HV servo. prob a savox or hitec. anyway heres where the questions come into play.

-Does anyone sell a standard BEC that i can buy and just wire up? i'm good with some basic soldering, but didn't really want to mess around with creating my own from scratch.

-i've seen some bypass harnesses that will let you power the servo straight off of the balancing port of a 2s lipo. this could work for me but i'm running a 2s/3s lipo setup in series. would the extra battery drain from the servo throw off the 2s pack over time? affect my ability to run 5s? what about the balance of the cells?

out of the two scenarios above anyone recommend one over the over? any other BEC setups i should look at?

Castle creations do an adjustable voltage 10 amp output standalone BEC. there are also many others but the castle seems to be the highest output and most adjustable.

The castle bec will handle a 5s easily, just connect it into your ESC plug, and as stated above, the output voltage is adjustable with their cc link. The harnesses are not difficult to make. I have made several, as a matter of fact I just made one for my new servo. All you need to make one is 2 servo extensions, I use 22 or 24 awg heavy duty ones.

if i went the harness route instead of the castle bec can anyone tell me how bad it would through off the balance? like would it be an issue running the servo's juice off the same batt thats powering the truck?

Why not just pick up a Hitec 7955TG (333 oz/in) or if you think you need more, a JR DS8711 (thats over 400 oz/in of torque @ 6V)

Done. No external BEC needed.
