Does nitro receiver battery monitoring require telemetry?

or is that a common feature built into most non telemetry systems?

I wouldn't say receiver battery voltage monitoring is a common feature most radios have. If the description of the radio's features doesn't say it has it, it probably doesn't. My Futaba 4pksr doesn't have it and it's a pretty high end radio.
