Default Opinions and Help Please

Hey All,

I have the following motors and ESCs...
I am a newb and would like your opinions

Did I pair the motors and ESCs in the best way?

1-Mamba Max Pro + Viper 4.5 XL 550 size can with an XXX-SCT

2-Sidewinder SCT(non sensor) + Hobbywing EZRUN 4000KV 4 pole with an HPI RS4 MT electric 4wd

3-LRPs SPX Super Reverse + SpeedPassion Series 2 5.5R with an XXXT-CR

4-Beeman 60A programmable ESC + Losi 9444 4 pole 550 size can with an HPI RS4 MT electric 4wd

#4 i don't think a 60A ESC can handle a 550 can 4 pole motor. That viper motor is wayyyyyyyyyyy to much motor for a 2wd short course. It has explosive power in a SCTE. And the CC sidewinder dosent pair with that motor well

1-Mamba Max Pro + Viper 4.5 XL 550 size can with an XXX-SCT way to much power. you want a 540 7.5 turn 2 pole max.

2-Sidewinder SCT(non sensor) + Hobbywing EZRUN 4000KV 4 pole with an HPI RS4 MT electric 4wd esc will be stressed, motor is really too much for the car.

3-LRPs SPX Super Reverse + SpeedPassion Series 2 5.5R with an XXXT-CR pushing the esc, way way to much motor.

4-Beeman 60A programmable ESC + Losi 9444 4 pole 550 size can with an HPI RS4 MT electric 4wdesc is not powerful enough.
yep

put the speed passion and the mmp in one of the Mts, and gear conservatively. thats the only combo you can really make. then it would be only good for bashing or speed runs. for normal driving a 7.5-10.5 is better.

those 4 pole are a lot of power for those cars, being older, I'm not sure how the drivetrain will hold up. i think 2 pole will be plenty.

Was not sure what to suggest based on what wass on hand... but looking at the trucks online to see what they were I wondered if those SC style motors would just blow the belts off after a while.

Fritzl65,

As a chassis, for wife and kids, the SCTE 1.0 is a good choice these days.. tough as nails, easy to find parts for, and above all just a cheap buy in. You can also do well with the stand by of a slash or stampede.

Run what you have for now except where you have the motor pulling too hard on the ESC (no need to fry the gear). But keep an eye out for deals out there, not sure what the parts support is on your HPI trucks now, but I imagine it can be slim pickens.

lbenton,
thanks for your advice....
I have 4 hpi rs4 chassis, and some parts...was trying to sell them here to get other parts...

we are pretty much broke, and bartered for the parts above.

The Hobbywing 4000kv are new...
The Losi motor was paired with a rebadged MMP... I could use that for one of the vehicles...I believe that this is a stock Losi set up for an scte
the other vehicles are the XXX-T sct conversion and XX-T the XX-T has had some serious modification time so as to allow my son to use his BMW X-5 body....
Cant find it online anywhere came off of a NewBrite toy...

I have so many parts its hard to get out of these vehicles... got a deal on 5 of them....

I may be asking too much... but if someone could suggest the correct gear for these... I think yhou all call it bashing... we run at the local track and sometimes in the forest preserve where someone made an outdoor track.

Would anyone have the correct gear I need to flesh these out correctly? Barter what I have and if necessary some cash or one of the spare hpi?

THanks

Please keep your advice coming....

the electronics won't work. they will end up tearing the cars apart. you will also need a lexan body for the cars.

that is still not an ideal combo, but it might be all right.

the spx esc is good, just get a 8.5-10.5 turn motor to race in MOD, or a 17.5 to race in stock. for bashing that setup would work well too. for the Mt i would go with a castle 1406 motor in 4600kv and the sidewinder esc you have.
