12th scale WGT servos
 

Hi,

What servos are recommended for 12th scale or WGT on road cars?

Does it take a standard sized servo? If so then you won't need a super strong servo. A super fast one would probably be the best choice.

What sort of electronics do you plan to use apart from the servo? I'm asking to better help in recommend weather you should get a LV or HV servo.

If your ESC gives out 5.5 to 6.6 Volts the SM/SN-2201LV could be a good choice, they are super fast and relatively strong with the 7.40 Kg's of torque.

Remember these arent cheap. But if you ask me, well worth the coin.

Are the servos with the detachable wire harness out yet?

winter is upon us again, and I am thinking of trying another waterproof setup for some fun running.

Need to get in touch with Viper as if I use there ESC, I don't want to run through what I did with the last servo and more so, it killing a perfectly fine ESC and having to pay to fix it.

Anyway, anyone have experience with these with the new Mamba ESCs?

I will say, looking back at the videos I took of the issue are quite comical lol

Greg - Xpert does not have one right now -- but with current 1/12 (and multiple) World Champion Marc Rheinard on the team --- chances are they will be working on one.

can you give us some details on the model you get in your b5m
is it fit well, get a good alignment between servo horn and steering ?
i need a new servo and be very interest by xpert ones.

4WD Buggy
 

Howdy, I'm wondering what you would recommend from the xpert range for 4WD buggy.

I run a PI-3402 in touring car and I'm quite happy with it, I notice Naoto is using one in his ZX-6 this weekend. Many others are using KO RSX low profile servos as well.

I would have thought something standard size would have been typical, but having two servos the same in both my cars would be a real bonus in terms of backup.

I have used a WR-4401 in my Durango DEX408 V1 buggy, it's fast and strong considering it's a low voltage servo as it goes from 4.8V to 6.6V But I switched it to a WR-6601 which I use it with a Tekin RX8 Gen2 ESC where I have set the voltage to 8.4V Here's a link to a short video I have made to demonstrate the speed of the WR-6601 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgCcGOKEzZk

If your ESC or external BEC is set to deliver more than 6.6V and you don't want to bother about altering it then the WR-6601 will be spot on since it can take up to 8.4V. If you want even more power than what the WR-6601 can deliver then look at the WR-7701 it has massive power considering it's size and it too will handle 8.4V.
The WR4401, WR-6601 and the WR-7701 are all standard sized servos.

If so then it delivers 6V to the receiver so the WR-4401 servo would be a good choice.
The WR-4401 delivers the following speed and torque at 6V

That should be pretty decent as standard. Or you could choose to bypass the ESC's BEC and use an external BEC like Castle's 10A SBEC where you can set the voltage to pretty much what ever you desire within a set range of course.
I have a Hong Nor Nexx8 i'm planning to get working when I get around to it and I have put a WR-4401 in that one and chosen to use a Castle 10A SBEC to bypass the Mamba Monster 2 ESC as I have heard the internal BEC in the Mambas are very frail and so they burn up when put under too much strain.
I have set the voltage to the receiver to 6.6V so the WR-4401 delivers

That is how strong the 3402 low profile is -- it will work in a 4wd buggy without issue -- unfortunately Naoto only finished 2nd at the Worlds with it.

Has certainly helped make my mind up. Real happy with the one in my TC, so another is on order to go in my 4wd buggy when it gets here.
