Thanks for the info guys. I have no intention of using the Ofna ps with this charger. Hoese, what differences do you see between the Fantom ps and the Maxamps? They're both 575watt/47amp, so other than the 2 sets of bullet plugs are there any other significant differences? Price is neither here nor there between the two. I do like Fantom stuff.
Pick which sticker you like and go for it.

Right. But you also need to calculate total WATTAGE. Total wattage with both his big batteries at 2C would be:
Channel 1 - 14.4amps x 8.4v= 120.96 watts
Channel 2 - 14.4amps x 8.4v= 120.96 watts
TOTAL WATTS= 241.92
Then you add in some overhead for the charger, and also for safety. So in total he needs a power supply capable of sustaining a load that is about 15 amps and 260-270 watts at 12V or greater. I don't think his Ofna will put out 260-270 watts. Maybe 200. Maybe.

A 2S will be a fair bit above half of even 14V (with the Ofna turned up, something I didn't see clearly mentioned) for virtually all of the charge time. And as Typhoon points out doesn't account for the power the charger needs to operate. 14.4A isn't nearly enough.

Old school champ, last one you will ever buy.
My 10 year old 30 amp runs stuff that makes the protek 40 amp struggle.
Great price also in the link above, pretty sure I paid more for my used 30 amp.

If u are spending that much I would go with a power lab 6!! I got one with the MPA and this psu
http://www.solidhobby.com/Power12-12...upply_p_9.html
It has switch to turn on and off instead of just plugging in. And u get $30 off if u order the set. Do your research and this is one of the best out there!!

It does EVERYTHING you will ever want to.

I have the Hitec charger and a psu power supply 750 watts. I have charge 2 7200 mah batteries at 20amps and run my tire warmer at the same time with no problem. Each side of charger was pulling 20 amps per the led screen and tire warmer was keeping tires at a nice 70°f.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and knowledge. I ended up getting one of the 575watt/47amp supplies off of someone on ebay. Should be here in the next day or two, along with my charger. Thanks again.

I am going to be running 4 of these http://www.buddyrc.com/sky-rc-ultimate-400w-20a-balance-charger.html
I need a power supply I like the 12v fantom but will that be enough? Otherwise also like the Chargery s1500 http://www.buddyrc.com/chargery-s1500-1500w-dc10-25v-power-supply.html
I am charging 2s and 1s batteries most I ever charge at it 2c! I run 7800mah 1s, 6400mah 2s.
I have 2 chargers set up for 2s and 2 for 1s I only ever charge 1 battery per charger at the track...
Thoughts on the two options?

If you do consider the Chargery unit in case of future needs etc, be sure to not turn it up past 18 volts with those chargers.

Dumb question, but when you guys plug these chargers in at home and are drawing 30 or 40amps, you have to make sure the house circuit that is providing the juice from the panel also has a 30 or 40amp breaker on it, right?
