So this ESC came in a car that i bought at i was told it was a hobbywing 80a speed controller, But there is no hobbywing labels on it. It from looks similar to the hobbywing sc8 but is defiantly different to the photos on the hobbywing website.

I connected my hobbwing multifunction box to is but it doesn't go past the connecting screen.

can anyone help me out?

It is a hobbywing. Looks to be one of the cheap rebrand or clone ones.

I also think it is an OEM version of the Hobbywing EZ-Run SC8WP, the waterproof one:

Its the Hobbywing SC8 you need the cable to plug the programming box into the ESC (Fan port if I remember correctly), this model does not work if you plug the receiver lead into the program box.
