Default SMC SS1 17.5t?

Anyone have any experience with these? I'm trying to find a fast high torque 17.5 motor. I've had a fantom racing 17.5t and liked it a lot, but can't quite justify spending another $125 for a motor when there's many out there at half that cost. I'm rather interested in the SMC but haven't heard anything about their motors. I'll be running it blinky offroad in club races, so roar approved doesn't matter to me.

Hmmm thanks, not a whole lot of info though. This is a dumb question, are rotors interchangeable?

http://www.fantomracing.com

They hand test/build their motors, but their high torque is $125

If you don't care about ROAR approved motors, pick up a Turnigy Trackstar 17.5. Those things are a beast and they're only $35 brand new. I ran one in an onroad blinky class and people were thinking that I had a mod car. Super fast motors and ran very cool too.

Ok, but do they perform better than the top ROAR approved blinky, motors to justify the price? Are they even ROAR approved?

The reason the Fantom motors tend to cost a bit more is because they are built to your specifications. You can buy a "standard" motor from Fantom hat is priced comparably to the rest of the motors currently available.

All of their motors (provided that you don't specify parts in your build that would make the motor illegal) are ROAR approved. They perform as well as the rest of the competitive 17.5 motors available over the counter.

Better than the d3.5? I've been using the fantom version.
