I fought "brown out" from day one. Tried the capacitors, tried different servos, tried different receivers, tried sensor wires, tried a new on/off switch, tried new battery plugs. Heck, I even threw away a couple of cheaper servos thinking that was the problem. After 6 months of that and listening to my friends telling me to get rid of the spektrum, I sold the radio and got Airtronics. Problem gone and I was kicking myself for wasting the money in the first place.
Heaven help you if you have Spektrum, Savox, and a Castle system. That is the "newb" trifecta of doom. They are cheap, so new r/c people flock to them. Experienced racers don't run any of that stuff. There is a reason for that.

castle, good escs, but super sucky becs.

savox, good servos, but super power hungry (not good for a sucky bec)

spektrum, known for having issues with the receiver, known issues whith brown outs (not good with a sucky bec, or power hungry servos)

Vito, which radio are you using? Is it DSM2? If yes, beg, borrow, or steal. Well don't steal one but try a different receiver, preferably a DSM2 one.

IMO, the sr300 is the weakest link in your system.

no offense, but it wasn't until you made it one. Spektrum is known for having "issues" that other radio systems are known not to have. maybe a new radio was not appropriate, but at least trying it with someone else's is a good idea (EricW for officially suggesting that)

I'm sure my post seemed harsh, honestly it was suppose to. It wasn't directly aimed at you anyway..other than you agreeing with him.

While saying "go buy a new radio", inserting your preferred brand, is technically a potential solution. It's also not very realistic, especially for Vito.

Obviously I'm well aware of Spektrums issues.

The Gen2 Tekins are also suppose to have a "beefier" bec in them. He shouldn't even have to be running a cap. So I've been told by a Tekin driver anyway.

IMO, that sr300 is the issue.

Ok all good.

yes, the receiver is probably the issue.

I'm trying to think of what the problem could be. I use nothing but spektrum radios/receivers. I have both spektrum and savox servos.. All vehicles use the micro receivers and I just put the new one that came with my dx4r pro in one of my vehicles. All vehicles have tekin rsc's... I use capacitors with all. Hmmmmmm...

I am not sponsored, nor am a loyal to any particular brand. KO, Futaba, and Radiopost all make good radios. Those brands can be pricey for the high end models. Just as the M12 is from Airtronics. I too am a racer on a budget. That's why the Airtronics MT4 and MX-3X where affordable choices. Both are about $200 with 1 rx. The good FHSS3 receivers are about $100, but the FHSS2 receivers are around $50.

The "brownout" issues that I experienced were all while the servo was under load while turning tightly through a switchback section on the track. The steering would hesitate for just a second and then return. It was not a servo saver deflection issue, as i was running the avid upgrade. It was just enough to blow the corner wide and ruin the lap. Others I race with have had complete shutdown of servo and ESC for up to 3-5 seconds. They too changed radio brands and solved the issue.

I don't take offense to any comment made on this site. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. That's the point of these discussions. They are all just opinion based on our own experience. Not based on science or fact. I will stop posting on this subject, as some on this site think that they know everything and take offense if you don't see things their way. Typical rctech nonsense.
