Not happening unless Apple changes business practice and opens up hardware to OTG standards.

Everyone needs to RELAX! Hell it's marked BETA to the right of the HW. Beta means TEST version to me so I'm sure they will have something figured out for the gen 1's eventually. I've been waiting all this time another few weeks or even months isn't going to bother me! Let's not start a bash session on Tekin.....let them get things figured out....Rome wasn't built in a day!
Hence why I asked if anyone (preferably from tekin) would confirm this app will work EVENTUALLY for the previous generation.

And now that I have 4 children (twins born this past July) and my wife "retired" from a special education teaching position to raise our family.....yes, I am now broke, busted and holding on to what I can. Already ebayed qlot of my more upscale toys. That means keeping all my gen 1's. Once something expensive breaks...its going to stay that way for awhile.

Eh, I did overreact a bit. It's just very frustrating that my older model won't be compatible with the app thats been hyped up.

WOW , some on here sound like some school yard kids, you have thousand dollar RC vehicles with rims tires, engines, trailers that are 20ft long with flat screen TVs in them, I have seen some stupid setups, and all I hear now is F'u Tekin I am going back to Orion, switching my stuff tonight....haha you will be back esp when you are able to do all your vehicles with it. They never said it was NOT coming geeez, just not available right now. and "I don’t want to tote around my lap top" OMG RC racers tote more crap than they need to races already, 100 pairs of tires and you can only run 4 at a time....lol stuff like that. People need to relax and stop acting like whinny kids. SMH lol

Mommy and daddy bought you a lot of stuff, didn't they.

lol, I love these forums. I only own the Gen2 stuff, but I think more critical info should have been passed out beforehand. I can understand if Tekin didnt want to dedicate the man hours to develop the app for old hardware. But, I also think they should have said something a while ago. Something like when the app is released it with only support the gen2. Or "In the beta release we will only be adding in functionality for the gen2 series, then plan to review adding in the older esc's". I think the issue people are having is the "Surprise, I does not support you". That being said, it is pretty common in most industries to not support the old tech. The new xbox one wont support your old games or even your old controllers. Same with the PS4. But, those companies released the info about no backwards compatibility before the game consoles were even available. So, I do think the ball was dropped on the communication. My 2 cents

Bingo! It sure would be nice if someone from Tekin would address this.

By all accounts, they've been working on this for a few years..well before the Gen2s were released.

They have stated it numerous times on FB and on here, right NOW, meaning at this moment, this very second, not tomorrow, not last night, but right NOW it does not support older systems. If you read between the lines, and take the time to see that this is clearly something they may just well be working on.

IF they could give you a definitive answer as to when/if/how/why/and where it will come out, they would. Clearly there is some stuff that needs working on.

BTW WHEN DID YOUR CURRENT TEKIN STUFF BECOME OUTDATED? JUST BECAUSE A TEKIN APP THAT IS IN BETA TESTING DOESN'T WORK WITH IT? NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN YOUR RS, AND RS PRO CAUGHT FIRE?

I wonder if the original post where this info came from can be found.
I will keep searching.
Would be nice if tekin would confirm or deny that this would eventually work with the gen 1's. That's all.
Not pissed or whining....

I am a little curious to the issue with 4.2+. Does the newer Android OS's block USB control of devices, like the iOS?

btw, we have too many threads. On orad forums, offraod forum, radio/electronics forum.

the Nexus 7 will actually be 4.4 within the first 24 hours of you setting it up. Mine is up to 4.4.1 or 4.4.2... I forget. The Nexus line always gets all the updates first from Google as it is a Google device.
