Default How to wire servo for full voltage and rx for regulated?

Trying to set up the radio in a 1/5 scale and need some help. Going to be using my 4PK and the receiver is not rated past 6v, but the servos are both 7.4v.

I think I understand how to do it but wanted to clarify. The part I'm not sure about is whether or not the servo should also be grounded to the battery in the attached diagram. Or maybe it should ONLY be grounded to the battery?

If it matters, I'm not sure what kind of regulator I'll be using yet (switched or linear)

Any help appreciated.
