Hey guys, i ordered a turningy nano-tech 6.6 2S lipo battery from hobbywing about 2 weeks ago. I'm know that the take a LONG time to ship, but they gave me a link for shipping info and the link dosent work, also the shipping status on hobbyking says delivered, to my house

Did you try contacting them?

Otherwise, to just vent, I think you meant to post this here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/chat-lou...o-not-buy.html

In the meantime, try to get to know U.S. owned and based companies that offer actual service to go with reasonable prices and better batteries like SMC and Promatch.

I've seen 3 brand new SMC shortys bad out of box at the local track....

One was a replacement for a another bad battery.

The tracking link will take you to USPS site when you enter the number manually. Or you can highlight it and copy, it's a little bit tricky but it works.

I would love to buy American but all these batteries are made in China and rebadged by the vendors.

Out of about two dozen packs I bought from HobbyKing only one was bad. Out of the two I bought from Promatch both were bad but they replaced them. Both SMC packs I bought (1 cell) puffed. Half of the Zues batteries have puffed. Not sure why the resellers packs are so touchy as I store all my packs at 3.85V/cell but the HobbyKing packs work great and last.

My Reedy packs are still good as are my CORE packs. The worst were the Trinity packs.

If I have the time I will order from HK but if I'm rushed then I order from their USA Warehouse.

I was going to go with SMC, but they are always out of stock and couldn't wait for back order, also i dont think there shipping is through USPS

Just click the link with your tracking number and enter it manually in empty tracking field on that website.

 no such thing as an american made lipo battery.
as for buying from an american based retailer, yes. that's always the best idea.

it's considered normal for all lipos to slightly puff FYI. it's their nature. they give off a gas which makes the pack swell even under ideal operating and charging conditions.

out of the 4 turnigy batteries I've bought 1 of them was DOA. one cell was a whole volt off the others and would never balance. they would not let me return it because I waited a whole week to contact them. as if I can immediately sit down when I get it to test it before the day is over to activate their so called warranty. that's why I'll never buy from them again.

every single battery I've bought has been slightly off each cell when brand new. once they are charged and used a few times they become closer and closer and usually end up exactly the same.

I just received a 1.5kg international air mail HobbyKing order on Saturday that was shipped 11/12/2013. That's 18 weekdays, or 25 days including weekends. Keep in mind Thanksgiving was in there too, and holiday shipping season has begun. That was just electronics, no lipos. They just started a whole new shipping procedure for lipos, which might have impacted your delivery time.

I also just ordered a program card with $3 shipping and got it from HK's China Warehouse in one week. It's hit or miss on shipment delivery times. And tracking from China usually sucks until it gets to US, and sometimes USPS screws up the delivery or don't update the tracking info too.

ENJOY YOUR TURNIGY NANO-TECH's! :)

There is nothing normal for hard case lipos to swell so much that the case becomes round. All the SMC hard case packs did that and all my Trinity/IP hard case packs did it. I had to buy new batteries at a ROAR race because the slight bulging didn't pass tech.

Since HobbyKing's Nano-Tech packs are ROAR approved I have bought eight hard case packs and everyone in AOK.

I guess if you like to spend three to four times the cost for rebadged products then go ahead. I don't so I stick with HobbyKing and Protek.

The tracking for the USA warehouse always works except when USPS forgets to scan the label.

Most of the time the delay from Hong Kong is in US Customs. It can take a day or two weeks to clear customs.

Hobby King is awesome. They keep other retailers in check.

I love the low prices and am willing to accept the customers service flaws.

Hobby King Rules !!!!:)
Can spend way more on name brand , still won't get a better battery then the Turnigy A Spec ...

10 days from Hong Kong is all it took for me .

Best performing battery I have ever purchased ....:tire:

Been using them every day for 3 or 4 weeks now ...

Tip : They get even faster after being cycled 6 to 8 times...

wever , learn to use the tracking service , it is very good .
You will know to the day when they will arrive.

TOM MAR 12-12-2013 05:08 PM
