SC1300-DB Question?

2 Attachment(s)
Hi im new to this forum, but not new to the hobby. I've heard good things about this forum and I thought I would try it out. Well, lets get down to business shall we! :D I was looking at this ESC and I wanted to run a single 4s instead of two 2s in series. But, I see a thin black wire coming from the ESC and into a place that's kind of hard to describe so bear with me.
I included pictures to hopefully help you guys help me... I don't know what it is and it is the first time I have EVER seen it on an ESC before. Im scared to cut it and when I do wire it up to run a single battery what do I do with that little thin one? Also, what does it do?

No one knows? Dang... I guess ill have to wait for Associated to reply to my email then.

Just a wild guess, but it might be power for the BEC section, so it wouldn't need to drop as much voltage? If I remember right Novak I think it was once had a similar deal.

Would make sense, It also looks like a setup to measure the voltage of each pack. Maybe for a lipo cutoff?

It for the BEC, they emailed me and told me that I need to shell out more money and buy the sc1300-bl in order to run a single 4s. This sucks. Is there any way around this? Or am I SOL?

This is exactly how it is set up. This way the LVC will kick in if either battery falls below the limit. It is not possible to run a single 4S battery.

I made a jumper cable, plugged it up to the side without the tiny wire and the battery up to the side with the wire. It works, the fan kicked on, motor turned, servo turned, etc..
@rickhowart as I said in my earlier post AE emailed me and told me its for the BEC, not the LVC.

Maybe route the little wire to the middle of the 4S balance tap to be safe?

Ran it today, ran perfect. The lvc turned on, it ran with out issues... So AE, take that!
