Hey guys I have a question about the voltage cutoff on my skyrc 150a esc. I am running A 4s battery and not sure if I should set the cutoff to 3.4 or 13.6. Any help is very appreciative. Thanks

3.2 volts per cell LVC cutoff is probably most common. At 3.6 LVC you will prematurely cut your run time short with an 1/8 scale setup.

For 4 cell, 13.6 cutoff. (3.4 per cell) or 12.8 @ 3.2 volts per cell as Panda stated.

Has anyone tried the Bluetooth module to adjust the settings?

Yes, it does not work on the Turnigy gen II ESC.

Thanksguys for the info. Newquestion Does one have a update to why when I make a change to my esc (Toro 150a)Via Bluetooth I have to turn my esc off and then on so the changes will take? It kind defeats the purpose of using the Bluetooth!!!!

Guys/Girls, I've read through all of your posts but cannot seem to find a definitive answer so I'm hoping you can help.

Can the Trackstar 150A GenII ESC be flashed with the SkyRC firmware using the SkyRC Progbox? (Or better still, can the Trackstar be flashed with the HobbyWing XERun 150A-SD firmware using the HobbyWing Multifunction LCD Program Box and HobbyWing Link software)

Reason for this is that I have the Trackstar 150A gen II but no Trackstar Multifunction Programming Box (they have been on back-order with HobbyKing for months) and instead of waiting for when it may/may not arrive, I thought that a firmware change may allow me to use the SkyRC Progbox.

I've been able to establish that the Trackstar HAS the same hardware as the Toro TS 150A after opening up the Trackstar and finding the Toro part number '300045' stamped on both of the PCB's in it.

What I'm really hoping is that there may be little difference between the Trackstar/Toro hardware with what is inside of the HobbyWing XERun 150A-SD equivalent; allowing the HobbyWing firmware to be installed. (if you have seen the interface of the HobbyWing ESC settings and seen their firmware revisions, you'll understand why I believe that the HobbyWing firmware would be the best option).

So...can you help? Can the Trackstar ESC firmware be upgraded/changed to the SkyRC firmware OR EVEN BETTER, can the Trackstar firmware be changed to HobbyWing so that the HobbyWing USB Link software can be run?

...I have both and neither work...awaiting Skyrc skylink as that seems to be able to work to pc but not much use in the field when all you want to do is use a little box

I have some questions. I have the Trackstar 150A esc & the trackstar multi program smart box. Can someone explain the punch rate switch point? Also the 1st and 2nd stage punch rates? The manual doesn't state what those actually do. I know some esc's just have a punch rate setting 1-9 or similar. I don't understand punch rate switch, 1st & 2nd.

Also I notice that the fan comes on soon as the esc turns on. and stays on constant. I figured it would be temperate controlled. Are they all like this or is mine defective?

I have not figured the punch rate switch point or the different stages yet either and would be appreciative if someone could explain them to us. As far as the fan goes, mine is always on as well as my buddies. So I don't think it's a defect. I guess it was too expensive to put in the unit.

It allows you to have two different punch settings. The switch rate is where it changes. So say you had Stage 1: 3, Stage 2: 7, Rate Switch: 50%, for the first 49% of the trigger on your radio, it operates at level 3 punch, 50% to WOT, it's 7. This allows you to adjust how hard it hits at lower throttles. Would be useful if you ran a loose track where you need the bottom end to be less aggressive, and then get more aggressive as the car is moving.

Dude!!!! Thank you for explaining that. I dont have much time to enjoy my RC hobby so taking time to figure that out wasnt much of an option. I just wish the manual explained that.

One other question. If you had to pick between the Toro 150 and the trackstar 150. what would you pick and why? I just ordered a Toro X8PT to run in my CEN colossus with my track star 150 I just bought last week. But now I wish I bought the toro 150 and its smart program box. Thinking of selling my new trakstar 150 and its smart program box just to switch over.

I honestly don't have any experience with either of them. The TS150 will be my first and I chose it because of the Bluetooth link. That way I can use my phone instead of the laptop to make adjustments.
