What's a comparable Hitec servo to a Spektrum 6040?

OK, just to jog my memory, what is a good 1/8 scale steering servo in the hitec line?
7955?
Some day I will upgrade.

BTW, I picked up a 8360 for my tlr22 buggy. Seems pretty quick with goobs of torque. Hopefully, I can run it this weekend on the track.

For 1/8 steering I use the HS-7954-SH on straight Lipo its .12sec and 402.73oz-in and a steel gear beast. You guys think it would be ok for a throttle/brake servo on a nitro to? Throttle/brake I was gonna use a 7955 but it would be nice to just have the same ones in it.

Default Brushless Hitec's

I got 4 Hitec's (2 x HSB9360TH and 2 HSB9370TH) about a month back used them 4 times so far and wow these servo's are the best. My Son and I have them in MP9's.

Now with 25 spline and flat wires among other things.

The 7954SH is the same as the 7955 except that it has steel gears and is rated for lipo use.

It's fine to use it as a throttle servo. Or if you want something faster, get the 7940TH :-)

I have a hitech charger and I left the power cable at the track, called them to buy a new cable replacement and they just asked me my address. Had a new charger cable free of charge at home within 3 days.

Are those even available in NA? Look like sweet servo's nonetheless.

I have seen them on a few US online stores, we scored our through our Sponsor here in Aus. Pretty sure that most distributers that handle Hitec will have them or can get them.

Great thread. I run Hitec as well (7955's) and have ran them since the mid 90's when I would run 625's in my 2wd buggies. Have never had to send any in. I do have one here with a bad gear set, karbonite gear, but I paid $12 for the servo from someone on here and didn't realize the servo saver was glued in the vehicle I put it in. No fault of Hitec's.
