motor/esc help please 1/8 scale

hey there people.
I have an 8ight scale losi truggy with a 120 amp hobbyking esc running a trackstar 2560kv motor it runs okay unless I hold It flat out for more than about 10 seconds then it goes to like a limp mode flashing an orange light manual 0doesn't really seem to say what it means. any ideas?
My main question is what is a 4 pole motor vs a 2 pole motor? I ask this as on the hobbyking website it says for both the 120a and 150a hobbyking esc not so use with 4 pole motors (not sure if this is the problem with the above question) but I have 150a hobby king esc with a 2100kv losi motor which is also a 4 pole motor has been running together for years with no issues.
Can anyone say for sure what motor is meant to be used with the hobbyking esc's or if a losi motor for example should be okay. thanks in advance for feedback

4 pole has 2 more magnet poles on it vs a 2 pole motor. So on the rotor usually there is one +, one - . Now with 4 pole there are two + and two- . There are aloso changes to the stator too. The kv you are using is very high for a tugggy.

I think the combo you have is fine, I would suspect you have voltage sag from the batteries. Try a higher burst rate battery and see if it still does it. Oh and check battery temp, if you're over drawing it, it will probably get hot.
My sons emaxx Toro 120 amp with Xerun 2100kv 4 pole 17/66 3S
My emaxx HW150 amp pro with 2560 Turnigy 6 pole 18/68 3S and 4S
The more poles you have, the more torque you have.
