Default Futaba Receiver question

I'm starting to transition to Futaba with a 4pks-r and had a question on how models are handled. I switch from M1 to M2 and noticed that M1 would still react to controller changes even though it was a different receiver. It did seem to take on the setting of M2. Is this the way it is supposed to work? All receivers bound to the controller work all the time. I guess I'm just used to Spektrum when I select a different model, only the receiver associated with that model works.

Thanks.

I have a 4pk and I can use the same rx in multiple models all with different settings(if you really felt like moving the rx every time). I also have a Spektrum, and as you say only one model can be bound to one rx at a time, I hope that helps.

Thanks for responding but I guess my question is slightly different. I actually have two receivers, one for each model. And on the Spektrum I bind a specific receiver to a specific model. I guess it goes like this. If I switch to M2 but I forget to turn off M1's power on the car itself. M1 will move around even when on M2. So it seems like Futaba binds the receiver to the transmitter regardless of model selected. While Spektrum binds the receiver to the specific model you have selected. Does that clarify? I think you answered my question. I just find it weird that the car still is moving even though I have selected a different model. Seems like a safety thing.

yes:
If you had eight cars all with receivers and turned on they would ALL drive whatever model you had selected in the Radio.

the only thing you are changing when you change models in the radio is the settings for that individual model, NOT which car you can control
