Sorry but no. The 2000 rec is a DSMR and the older radios are either DSM or DSM2.

Please read this:

The 2000 rec will work with radios that does DSM2....which the DX3R comes to mind.

I apologize, you are correct, I am wrong. The 2000 rec will bind backwards to DSM2 only and then runs on DSM2. I checked with the head of spectrum to verify.

I've always liked my Spektrum radios. I've just ordered a DX3R Pro with a few receivers and looking forward to getting it! I currently have a DX3.0 and a DX3E (or something) that came with my Losi 22 RTR. I like the savings over an M11x, but I do like the Airtronics as well. I have a 2.4ghz 3PM as well.

someone post how they like it when ya'll get one

I too like my Spektrum DX4S, even though I read lots of people on forums bashing Spektrum. That being said my only other radio experience is with my first RC's Traxxas TQi radio - I realize thats a big enough change.

I am very interested in getting this DX4R pro when it comes out, but I can't find much information online as to what the differences of the DX4S and the DX4R Pro will be aside from 11ms to 5.5ms and 50 memory profiles from 30. Can anyone who knows more about radios than I do tell me what other differences there are and if it would be worth the upgrade?

Thanks
PB

There's the drop down wheel and software/menus will probably be more like the dx3r-pro which includes graphs for the exponential settings.

Anyone hear of a date yet? I see the link says December but it was at November I think.

Whitesahara 10-19-2013 08:29 PM

A Main Hobbies site says "This product will be in stock Saturday December 7th", kinda a weird date....

I spoke to a amain rep, and since December 7th is a Saturday. Not likely to release on that day. Look forward to a nudge sooner release date. Also spoke to a Horizon Hobby rep as well.
And as we speak the controllers have been on the boat on its way here.
Not trying to shot myself in the foot here but, I'd say give it 2-3 weeks and the DX4R Pro should be here...
;)

The only other difference I know of is the drop down wheel.

I am in the same position as you, only used my DX4S and Tqi. I'm not sure why so many people bash spektrum I've never had a problem.

4s doesn't list the adjustable trigger, adjustable spring tension for throttle or steering and while it says it comes with 3 different grips I'm not sure they would be the same. There was a very different feel between the 3S and 3R, I'm gonna guess that will be the same the the new 4's, and feel means a lot when buying a radio.

Ryan-

Has Spektrum solved the issue with glitching when using high end servos.

I would love to remove the need of adding the external capacitor or buying additional BEC with my 3100's.

Just a heads up. I talked to horizon hobby and Amain.
If this is fully true, personally I think it's messed up. The new DX4R Pro
Is not switchable for left and right hands. It's just right handed...

It is switchable as I held a lefty in my hands last weekend. It is very much the same as the DX3R Pro but in black, 4 channel, has an "on" light and has rock crawling mixing functions.

I cant say that this is in particular a spectrum issue. Power hungry servos are going to overload most any BEC's. The BEC handling in the newer 410 receiver and the new 2000 receiver are altered and do work better.

It is a similar chassis but very different. The new DSMR technology is very fast and very good and has had no issues at all from our testing. The trigger was altered and has a much better feel. The trigger also has adjustable tension like the wheel. The wheel has no lip on it now so it feels much better. It does indeed have a lot of features for the crawler group as well. It is a very good radio, I am very happy with mine.
