Default Tamiya electric speed control question..for 2ph remote

hi

I have a tamiya mini cooper and a 2Ph futuba remote control from the old days and was wondering can I get a TAMIYA ESC TEU-105BK to replace the mech speed control it came with as I hate the battery pack that keep flying out.

thank you ..been out of this hobby for 15 years.

what do you mean a 4aa battery pack for the speed control? you run the speed control off of the main battery in tamiya m chassis cars

Most any modern speed control will have a BEC feature, battery eliminator circuit, so a separate receiver pack is not needed. According to the Tamiya website the 105 has a BEC. The 104 does not if I remember correctly, that model does need a receiver pack.

Just be sure the speed controller does brushed motors if that is what you have-want. Might want to get something that also does brushless, as it is an excellent upgrade.

Might be older than you realize, those go back a ways. Doesn't show up on Futaba's site, a couple of the major online sites show it as discontinued, another doesn't appear to even list it. Time flys when you're having fun.

No problem. And welcome back, the new technology is excellent once you get the hang of it.
