Default throttle dead band setting

Hi,

I'm running a MMP and just wanted to know what setting do you use for throttle dead band. Is it safe to go for the lowest setting?

I would think as long as it calibrates to your radio correctly it should be OK.

I'll second Dave's response.

I always use the smallest deadband setting on my ESCs because it makes it easier for me to modulate the throttle at low speeds.

One thing to watch out for is that the MMP won't boot (or "arm") properly if the throttle is not within the deadband of the neutral position. That drove me crazy with one of my older transmitters. That transmitter had a tendency for the throttle neutral position to drift slightly. It wasn't noticeable when driving, but occasionally it would be far enough out to exceed the deadband, and then I'd have no motor drive when I turned the car on. This drove me crazy for several months until I figured out what was going on. This is more common on analog transmitters, but the one I was using had a microprocessor. It turned out that the trigger mechanism had developed a bit of play over the years.

Also, if you like to dial in drag brake by adjusting the throttle trim, then you can't use the MMP at all!

Thanks for your feedback I'm using a M11X transmitter so it should be allright. Like you mentioned howardcano it's better to have a low setting to feel the car better so I'll go for it and let you knw how it went
