Default Hitec 7955TG

I have one setup as the steering servo in my XT8. It seems that it stops working once it gets centered. If I try to turn the wheels by hand it will fight it, but if I lift the front off the ground the servo stops working(once centered the buzzing noise stops and it won't steer). It seems like a sudden bump is needed before it works again. From what I've read the feedback potentiometer is probably at fault? Does that sound right? Any more tests I can do?

Sent it in for warranty at Hitec. Got it back, and on the first use it went up in smoke... has anyone else had this much bad luck with these?

Hmm wonder if that bubbly unit there was a bad chip, or maybe there was a cold solder joint near it? Have you spoke with Hi-Tec again?

I just bought one. I'm waiting for a back ordered battery to finish my build. I picked it partially based on so many people here loving them. I hope they fix it up for you.

So they warrantied my servo... this is what I got in the mail.

That's right, they sent me a 1/4 scale Giant Servo.... It's as big as my MMM 2200kv motor... Contacting them in the morning to see what happens

Somebody must have been having a bad day at Hitec, imagine the look when the other person got your 7955. ;-)

WOW! Talk about a string of bad luck!

I also use all Hitec servos and never have issues with my 7950 and 7955's. Good luck!

So a day after I received the wrong servo I received another package. Same invoice and all, but with the right servo... so now I gotta figure out where to return the other one haha...
