Default hitec atom 3 and regulator question.

Hey all. Question regarding lipo and atom 3 from hitec. I can run servos on straight Lipo with no (apparent)damage and no twitch when using the hitec atom 3 in my buggy. But the same brand servos in truggy will constantly random twitch when running straight Lipo through the dx3r receiver. Servos are Savox1256tg and ace 1015.
So basically was wondering if the atom 3 has an inbuilt regulator...it says it's safe to use up to 7.4 volts and comes with a non hv servo when bought in kit form which has me thinking it's regged. Just don't wanna burn out my servos but if possible why not take advantage of all day run time of Lipo.
Cheers.
