Default New Steering Servo

I was just bashing my Ten SCT around the other day, hitting jumps and adverse terrain, and when i was driving it back to the car I realized the steering was shot. I smoked the servo somehow, but that brings me to my question. I am moderately new to RC and I would like to track thing. I want something that will be durable while being fast and strong. I looked into a hitech servo for like $115. I am not sure how much I should spend, how fast it should be, and just about all factors. I have no brand preference. I just want some ideas of what I should buy and how much I should spend.

Thanks in advance!

Even though i run futaba HV's now, ill say the Savox 1256-if you dont run lipos...or Equivalent in HV if you do. these will suite you very good. Nothing beats them in terms of value and you wont need much more.

I use the Savox 1256tg in a 1/8 nitro buggy, it works well & is 20kg/277oz in torque & speed is .15 seconds @6v.
I use mine with a LiFePO4 6.6v receiver pack & know of a few other people that do as well & they work fine with no problems at all, the extra .6v gives a little more speed & probably torque as well.

I'm no expert in SC trucks but I don't think it needs a super powerful servo to work properly.

My first thought was the pro tek 100t servo. It's only 50 dollars or so and has plenty of power to make your truck perform the best it can and take the abuse of crashes and rough terrain. I don't think you need to spend more than 50-70 dollars on a servo for this application.

I would avoid Savox in that rig. To much stall current for that ESC and Spectrum
RX. Figure out a budget and head over to AMain or Tower. I would recommend
Something in the 150-200 oz range, and .10- .15 transit speed.

the current draw through the spektrum recievers are only cause by SOME esc's.

Tekin and castle are known for having the odd bec issues and hence why you see these brown outs.

Its just that spektrum rec cant handle the low voltage load caused from savox servos, and this all comes about from the ESC's BEC...

i have had brown out issues with futaba and castle(futaba servo and futaba rec)

However all brown outs can be cured by the $5.00 cap spektrum sell.

Hitec 7955.

If you want a little extra speed direct lipo it. (cut red and black wire off servo plug and send them straight to the ESC 8.4v input)
