MRT RC4 Information
I have been given permission to pass on this information .
MRT now have a pt that will work on ALL My laps systems. You can Have your existing personal number, also.
Myself and others have had these for a few months with very positive results.
So in summary your current MRT. will work on mylaps up to rc3 the new version will work on ALL mylaps not just limit you to Rc4
It's done as a trade in, send old transponder pay for
a new PTX (NS) transponder at a reduced price (-50%)
with the option to buy an extra one at half price.
Supplied transponders are on the original cloned ID
number or a matching ID number for non clones.
**LATEST NEWS**
They are available now, requesting an order number
and completing order form (send with transponders)
notifying ID numbers in advance helps to speed up
order processing and return of new transponders.
The order form and info via: [email protected]
or [email protected] for technical/support.

Congratulations to MRT!
It would be interesting to hear exactly what needed to be tweaked to make the PTX signal indistinguishable from an AMB. But I'd guess that information might be quite closely guarded.

Just what we need....more bootleg transponders!
If mrt had any balls they would market their own decoders and transponders instead of riding on the back of MyLaps like a tick on a dog!

I wonder why MRT doesn't do that. I have split feelings about this. While I appreciate AMB for their innovation, I feel abused by their pricing. $100-120 for a transponder is not so terrible. Not great but not terrible. What mylaps is charging for decoders is unreal. For this reason MRT is often viewed as a Robin Hood in the market of scoring devices. If they would produce a decoder that was reasonably priced and compatible with their PT or a new PT. Then clubs could choose to use Mylaps or MRT and racers would most likely have more than one of each brand of transponder depending on what track they were visiting that day. If Mylaps really wanted to hurt MRT they should just sell their product to race clubs at a price that doesn't require a home equity line, and offer their transponders at about half of what they cost right now. If Mylaps PTs were about fifty bucks then less hardcore racers would buy them and hardcore racers would have a multiple PTs.

All my laps did was tune rc4 to read a finer/cleaner signal. Mrt was not as "clean" so was filtered out. The new mrt pt is now as "clean" so they would need to redo thier own pt to knock out Mrts signal.

I don't think gender has any bearing on the situation. There are many capable engineers, male or female.
But I do agree that MRT (and other companies) should make decoders. It's certainly not too difficult to do.

I guess people can spend the $75 on a clone that might still work 5 years from now or you can spend $90 on a transponder that will still work 10 years from now. I have one that old and it still works flawlessly.
Anyway good luck with the transponders.

I have 3 mylaps and 1 MRT. I'm thinking about this offer.
I can have 2 working MRT's for a 'low' price and can sell them without a loss in the end.

I never understood the purpose of cloning a PT.
When AMB came out with the PT's theory was one unique number that no one else in the world has. Not to mention how this has helped the race program. Even if you sold that transponder the person that bought it still had a unique number. But since the "clones" hit the market I've read many posts of racers saying they get couple of clones then sell the original or sell the clones, etc. Chances are those who buy a used transponder are unaware they have a PT that is not unique!
At least a clone from MyLaps will have the 8th digit that will make it unique!
Sure MyLaps PT's cost a little more. But what in RC racing isn't over priced? Don't know how many times I've heard someone brag how much they spent on a car kit or a nitro engine or a purple anodized part that is broke or obsolete in 6 months!
My 13 year old PT is still kicking and never missed a lap!
