Hey guysim having initial setup issues with my rx8 gen 2 it will not sense the brake during the quick setup it reads neutral then throttle but when I apply brake it's continuously beeping and doesn't register.. It's a new dx3r radio I've re binded it 3times with no luck any suggestions? All wiring is correct ans trim is at 0 on home screen of radio I tried servo reverse and that didn't work either I'm bummed. This is a new radio to me I've tried looking at the manual but still haven't resolved anything. Also upon initial start up of the esc it beeps then 3 LEDs are lit/blinking on the rar right side if looking at it straight on from the front... Help lol

There is no throttle servo. Do you mean you reversed the throttle on radio? That is usually what is wrong. |

And my EPA is set at factory which should be full throttle and brake correct |

Yes on the radio I changed it to reverse

Set the EPA as high as it can go, make sure you don't have any brake dialed out, and try again. If I recall correctly, that radio can go up to 125 or 150 on the EPA, but comes at 100 from the factory.
I will bump it to 150 and try when I get home |

EPA would be considered " travel" in spectrum terms correct? since its end point adjustment

21 second laps, lots of wheelspin and throttle. Durango truggies. gen 2 2250's, gen2 rx8's and same 17/60 gearing. Both of us had one of those major meltdowns of the ESC where it looks like it caught fire. CL is set at 50% on mine and 60-70% on his.
Your batteries should be fine for the most part. Note that the Maxamps may go flat around the 7 minute mark, as our testing has shown but aren't the likely cause of your failure. The elephant in the room here is your gearing. 17/60 is under geared. Comparably a TLR Truggy 2250 is geared 15/46 with a FDR of 13.1. You guys are geared 15.17 which is a lot different. Being under geared on a track with a straight away as the one I see in those videos is going to create huge amp draw especially when you add slick conditions with wheel spin... Try a 19T pinion with non maxamps pack. I bet your motor temps come down as well as your esc temps. |

I think that straight is 120-130 feet long. |

I was using 18/60 and it just had too much power for the track and never came off over 170 degrees (motor) even on a 100 degree day. 19 pinion would mean more power which means more wheelspin or I would just have to back off the throttle most of the time. Not sure I understand.

If the truck is too fast, it's best to choose the correct motor. The 2250 is a beast and even Ryan Lutz goes to the 2000kv at times, I run it exclusively because the 2250 just wheelies too much lol. Your 4wd SC sounds close. Try going up a tooth to see if motor temps come down. |
I also talked to a guy on the phone at tekin and he was telling me that on my home screen there is section on the very bottom for break strength and its at 0%... he said that needs to go up to 100.... im gonna try that as well...

Under gearing these motors is actually worse than over gearing in regard to the esc. Gearing down to change the speed and allowing the motor to free rev is very bad. Amp draw at unloaded rpm is extremely high and can cause failures to esc, battery, and motor.

Talking about gear ratios. I want to ask about roll-out. I found out that car should be moved forward 1" by 1 motor rotation. So when I have tire 6" in diameter, 19" inch circumference, then my FDR should be as close to 19 as possible. Does this apply on tekin t8 too? I already read that under gearing (FDR 19+) is worse than over gearing (FDR under 19) , right?
