Can the RX8 Gen2 power 2 servos, say 2 Hitec 7995TG ones at 6V and / or 7.4V?

Icero 05-02-2013 02:26 PM

do you guys think a savox 1256tg could handle 7.4v via rx8 gen2 esc?

I wouldn't do it, the 1267 and 1268 are made for this purpose

Quick Q, Will the Gen2 superceed the first gen RX8's, or will Tekin still be shipping the Gen1 models still? The reason I ask is I have a RX8 combo on back order, and I would like to get the Gen2 RX8, will I need to cancel and re-order, or will the Gen2's replace the Gen1's on back order with the shops? I asked the vendor, but they say to take it up with Tekin. Thought I would ask as others may have the Gen1 RX8 on backorders. Thanks

Software

Will the new firmware for the rx8gen2 upload into my old rx8? I don't need new white plastic or hotwire port. Just the new firmware in my trusty rx8.

It will not burn the servo out at 7.4 volt or do you think its safer leaving at 6volt!

No, Rx8 Gen1 stops at 224 which is on the site now: www.teamtekin.com/hotwire.html

Yes, but with the old motor still.

Aren't they talking about a new 1/8 scale motor too at some point?

I already have a new T8 (1900kv) motor that I haven't used, so I'm gonna try to just get the new ESC when they are in stock. :D

Hitec 7955tg

It's definitely safer to use a servo at the indicated voltage but you can always push it a little.. Now I can't tell you where's the limit as I didn't test it myself but someone mentioned he did it so..it's up to you :p
