I think its time to take it easy on ta-man. I don't think that anyone who is truly out to take people for a ride and cheat them out of money would go posting it on one the most popular RC Forums.

He's said his peace as well, so ease up boys. There's an RX8 Gen we're all waiting for.

You're ok in my book ta-man ;)

Has anyone figured out if we can get the data from logging to a file? Or what is the file that this data is stored?

I may just bite the bullet and go pay tax for one at the LHS, as they seem to think they will get them within the next 2 weeks. But then again, a local team tekin driver hasn't even gotten one yet, so I'm holding tight for now, as I don't think anyone is going to be getting them for a while.

Yes you are able to download the file from the hotwire interface.

People will always pay top dollar if that's what they really want. I just cant figure why these companies don't just stock current supplies and when the new stuff comes in give the buyer an option to buy the new at a certain price or buy the discontinued at a blow out at cost price or something of that sort.

That said SP Arrow is what I will be getting. I want a Tekin Gen2, but not waiting another day..

Tekin has taken a big step down in my book for blowing this release. Not only have they managed to piss off customers by delaying the release, they have been oddly tight-lipped and unapologetic about it. Two strikes Tekin...

Let's recap...
What did you say about a mid-May release on 5.2.13? "...Will be shipping this month."
and on 5.20.13 "We are still on schedule to begin shipping Gen 2 RX8's to the public by the end of the month."

How bout June? Will you be shipping this month? If you can't provide a product the least you could do is provide an excuse.

I find it hilarious that people are at odds with Tekin, for not continuing to supply a subpar product in the first generation RX-8 that had durability issues. Tekin is obviously trying to correct the issues of the old ESC in the new one, but consumers do not understand that so they continue to bash Tekin. Is this an ideal situation for Tekin? No, but if you have some patience hopefully customers will receive a better end product with all of the issues corrected. If anyone remembers Novaks release of the Kinetic and understands how the early release of that ESC damaged Novaks reputation you would understand why Tekin is being so cautious with the release of their new RX-8. Now if the second generation RX-8 continues to have durability issues, then I would understand the bashing. Until then, hold your judgement. By the way there are other Speedos you can purchase if you are so down on Tekin. I am sure they is no shortage of customers who believe in Tekin products.

I find it hilarious that people don't realize that "have some patience" is twice as annoying as anything tekin has done.

"subpar product in the first generation RX-8 that had durability issues" It's so subpar that there are so many complaints about its lack of availability. Please use your brain. There isn't a thread for any esc on any forum without plenty of people showing up saying their esc died for no reason. It's certainly been good to me, would have been nice if they timed the gen2 launch better so stock wasn't so dry for so long. It's a valid complaint. "have some patience" is a lazy response, usually made by people who aren't looking to purchase new vehicles/escs anyway so don't have any skin in the game and just want to stir the pot.

You've added nothing to the discussion.

No one wants to ship the Rx8gen2 more than us…. It is how we pay the bills :D

There have been some last minute delays in the production of large qty, but we are rolling now. On the bright side most of the team has had them for weeks and they are performing excellent so our confidence is very high for performance and improved durability.

To be fair to our distributors and everyone with backorders we try to ship to everyone all at once. It does take a week or so for them to arrive and get put into stock, and another week to get sent to dealers. However I can say the Rx8gen2 units will be shipping this week !

We are filling many of the backorders for the gen1 systems by putting gen2 units in them as an upgrade bonus. We can only do this because there are no gen1 systems available in the market and this is the fastest way to take care of people that are waiting and thank them for their patience.

We gave 5 to the Hobby People booth last weekend at the RCX show in CA… so technically they are/were available to the public :sneaky:
