Default My Current Situation!!!

So I have been getting into racing and taking it more serious now that I have a race level vehicle. I purchased a losi 22t in the ready to run version. I have a few things that I need to get so I have a vehicle that is like my competitors.

Since the vehicle came ready to run, it included everything to make it run and be able to use it. The stock electronics are not the best but mainly because of the speed control. I am looking to upgrade the speed control very soon. I also need to get a transponder which run in the 100 dollar range. My stock radio is a spektrum radio but does not have the lcd display. Radio is fine but I really want to upgrade it.

So what I am asking is what should I get first, second, and third. I need to get a new esc, transponder, and radio. Please help me out

I would keep an eye out in the For Sale threads. I picked up a Transponder for $50 the other day. Same thing with the ESC. The for sale thread is loaded with stuff and gets updated all day long. On the other hand, if you know what you want, you can post it in the Wanted thread as well, some people check there before they list their stuff.

I would say the transponder first since it's hard to race without one. I wouldn't worry a whole lot about the radio. As long as you know how to access key functions you're set. It's not one of those things that'll necessarily make a beginner faster on the track. No experience with the losi rtr ESCs.. is it having issues? Starting out focus on your driving and just make sure you have the right tires.. whatever everyone else is running. I'm being hypocritical but you could save a lot of money and have just as much fun without marginal upgrades.

I agree.. Get good as slow speeds and understand the concepts of weight distribution and get your car dialed in. Eventually you'll know when its time to go faster. Going fast at first only leads to one thing... Broken parts and that's what kills the joy for anyone wanting to race. Remember that we were all slow at one point in time.

The ESC is fine for right now. I just want one that is more competitive. I will definitely get a transponder first. Even though they offer transponders at my track for 5 dollars per race day, it is still good and cheaper in the long run to have one. Plus during practice I can see my lap times.
