Questions?? Lipo charging question

I have a 11.7v 3s 5,000mah lipo battery that i am currently charging at 2amps. how does it normally take to get it to full charge. im using a primal charger that will only go to 4amps but i tryed to select it to there but the charger only let me go to 3 so i started it and then the charger shut off and restarted and would then only alow me to charge it at 2a. Any ideas. please pm me or leave a reply thanks guys.

Possibly four hours at that rate.

Think you mean 11.1v 3s lipo, I had a primal charger as well, it's a pretty good charger but once you get a few lipos it's better to have a dual charger that can at least hit 10amps on each port or if you're only going to have a couple lipos a single charger is good but you want at least 10amp charge rate, I don't own 3s lipos but my primal would charge my 2s 5000mah in about 80min. at 4amps so you're going to be waiting forever at 2 amps you'll probably only get to run that battery once a day, no better then a stock wall charger that comes with some rtrs, if you're into the hobby a charger is a big deal just dish out the cash for a good charger and you'll be happy, I sold my primal and picked up the hitec x2 400 for 175$ can charge 20amps on each port

Its because the charger cant put out the amps at that voltage. Also s a lipo battery reaches full xharge ut will drop amperage.

Yea I remember the LHS telling me something about that charger when I got it that even though it says 4 amps it can't charge certain batteries at 4 amps, Yea I noticed how the amps drop near the end of charge, does this happen cause it's finishing balancing the cells or...?

Thats how it works. The charger drops amperage and senses how the batteries react to it. When the charger stops putting out amps and the battery holds voltage, its done charging.
