Questions?? Servo & Gear Question!

Hi all! I have some questions about servos and gears. I never worked with them before, so hopefully someone here can help me.

For the servo, I'm looking at the Hitec 5645MG (w w w.servocity.com/html/hs-5645mg_digital_torque.html) and the rotation options for purchase are 90°, 180° and continuous. Does 90° mean it can rotate a total of 90° or 90° both ways (180° in total)? The image below is throwing me off haha so I don't know how I should be reading it.

As for the gears, I'm looking at creating a mechanism with a 1:2 gear ratio. I want the bigger gear to be able to turn 180°. If I am correct, does this mean I would need the servo to be able to rotate 360°in order to rotate the bigger gear 180°?

Based on all this, what rotation option for the servo do I need to get?

Thanks!!

The rotation options...90*= 45* in each direction, 180*= 90* in each direction. As far as what you want to do with it, no clue on that one.
