That's of course an option. Yes, you may fry the servo unless it is HV. Don't know, buy it may even be possible to fry the ESC since you're feeding high voltage "back" to the BEC in the ESC.

Don't know if this is possible with other Rx...

Buying a 462 is simply the best answer, the chance of frying something by experimenting on a 461 as well as the fact that with decent care a reciever lasts 20 years or more.... the extra few bucks for the upgrade will never be missed once you spend it.
