I have recently bought a 2nd hand 8ight 2.0. It didn't come with the radio gear but I am using my 2.4ghz 2 channel. There is a third wire presumably for the 3rd channel. Was this for the on board telemetry? Are servo's meant to hum?

It's probably for the rx pack. Some servos hum slightly but at rest (with no load on them) they should be silent imho.

Actually, some are noisy, some are not. In my limited experience with several different types of trucks with several different types of servos, some are noisy. I have a brand new one that is a little noisy but if i push down a little bit on the bumper, it gos away, kind of weird but some are noisy.
