I have an Acoms Technisport 2.4G and I have tried to bind it to an Eurgle 2.4G, 3 channel receiver (only because I can't find any Acoms DR224 receivers to buy separately), but it just ain't happening.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Not sure they are even compatible.

most likely will never work, most tx/rx combos are not swappable between different brands unless they are module based, like say for example you are using a spektrum module and rx in an airtronics m11 then yes it would work, but you couldn't bind a spektrum rx to an airtronics m12 simply because it is set too only work with the same brand of rx's. hopefully this makes sense
