Default Replacing controller issues

The original controller broke and i replaced with another. i realized i had bought an digital FM controller and i previously had an AM one. After selling my original AM reviever & crystals, i bought an FM reciever & crystal set seperately. Ive installed them all and nothing. Powers showing everywhere but no action.
Has my car lost its mind or have I.
Is there something Im missing here, cause i did try 2 other AM controllers before i got the FM one. One of the AM controllers may the steering turn one way when i turned it on. I did make sure batteries were charged but didnt matter. Im fairly new to all this, so any suggestions would be great.
HSP atomic warhead nitro buggy #94106

Default fm issue

I'd start by making sure you put the transmitter crystal in the transmitter. I'd then make sure both are the same channel. You don't say if the transmitter takes a crystal. I'm lost as to why your playing with FM, 2.4 is around 50 for entrance unit with receiver. You need to make sure you put the wires in to the rec correct, signal to center or crystal always. Also your crystals are 27mhz, how about the rec or trans? You would have been better off to buy the Hitec sythz rec and it doesn't need crystals, locks to your FM signal like a 2.4 does. Chris
