definitely go for the hobbywing! what class's do you run in? stock or mod? if you go wih the hobbywing you also have the choice of getting the really nice program card for around 9 bucks extra it's a great deal! the best place too buy hobbywing stuff is from falconsekido.com they have a nice 180 day warranty on all stuff bought from them, good luck with your decision :D

Im going to run stock class but the esc and motor combobi found said that the timing is set to 0 and cant be changed what is the timing and should i get the one that is adjustable

trickedout 01-29-2013 08:03 AM

dont just think that because the Tekin stuff costs more that its better. In my opinion Hobbywing is at the TOP of the esc market.

i 100% agree with trickedout. and if your running in stock then you won't be aloud to run any timing or boost on the esc so definitely go for that combo, I assume your talking about the justock esc?

Yea thats the one i was looking at so with all the good talk so far im going to order that insted i might even order 2 combos for yhe price i found the tekin for

The juststock is a great esc but keep in mind any motor upgrades you plan on doing in the future. i beleive its only 45a and will handle down to around 11.5t motor. So if your thinking you may try boost or running mod with 10.5t or lower you might want to go for the Xtreme stock or the xerun 60a to be safe for future upgrades.

also there is a good thread for the justock esc here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...stock-esc.html

I just looked at the site and hey offer the just stock with a 8.5tcombo up to 21.5t combo so if i went to run mod with my rc10b3 and sc10 what should i run 10.5t or 8.5t

i know a lot of people who run just 10.5's in there buggies (its really about the size of track your going too be running on) but i don't know about the short course trucks, everyone is so into the 4-pole or 550 setups at my local tracks for there short courses in mod

edit: but it also states that for off-road it is not recommended to go lower then a 11.5 turn motor on the justock

Does the juststock esc combo come with the wire to wire it up and if not what wire should i use and should i go with deans conectors or traxxas (what i have now)

yes it comes with wire, should be already soldered up too but i don't know if it is in the combo (i don't know why it wouldn't be) deans would be the best way too go  but i always just use straight too the battery with bullet connectors on the end.

Ask the fast guys at the track what they are running . At my track its Tekin RS Pros .

kmc240 01-29-2013 12:37 PM

Kind of aff topic of esc but with more power what servo would be good to run in a b3 and sc10 im kind of new to the racing im trying to get away from bashing since theres a track 2 streets over from me. Sob trying to set up my trucks to race

id recommend the spektrum s6040 its basically the same as the savox everyone loves but not so power hungry. or the xp ds1313

Fast guys aren't always fast because they run a certain brand. Quite the opposite actually because the fast guys could swap with the slower guy and still smoke him. There is someone out there at every track winning with just about any product.

I have a futaba s9452 in my oval car, a futaba s9551 in my buggy and a futaba bls451 in my truck. Pleased with all. Ran a Savox 1257 in the truck for a while but it was very loud and 'chatty'. Drew a lot of current too. I like the futaba's better.

kmc240 01-29-2013 01:59 PM

I have just basic hitec and futaba ones now but they dont seem to have good responce but whats the torque and speeds that i should be looking for

id say don't go any less then like 120oz of torque for both cars and try too stay away from anything slower then .14sec transit time

they both have the same motor limit, its just the extreme stock has boost and timing features. if your ever going too mess with those setting then Xtreme stock all the way! if not the Justock would do just as good a job ;)
