Default What radio!

Hi all

Trying to get a idea of what radio I should upgrade too. Tax refund coming in the near future and would like to get something better. I currently have the Futaba 3pl.

The radio works good, but to me feels like it comes from toys R us, to toy like and plastic like if you ask me. Would like to stay under 300, hopefully under 200 or as close to that as possible.

Also can use either a Lipo or some kind of LIFE battery for the Reciever.

Thanks

Andrew

I've been pretty happy with my 4PL. Receivers are pretty darn cheap too. Makes it easier to have a reasonable crop of vehicles at any one time. You should be able to get one pretty close to $200 from tower if you use one of the coupons.

Thanks, Most likly get it from my LHS. Even if it costs me a little more, I try to support them. If not my track might just disappear.

How are both these radios? I mean the Futaba 3pl feels like a toy more then a rc remote.

I just got a Futaba 4PL for the son and it's a nice radio. And like said above receivers are cheap and small. It has all the features you will need too. Picked it up from the LHS for $239.

I love my 4pl. My only complaint is no drop down wheel. I was amazed how much better my friend's radiopost and my other friend's 4pks-r felt. The drop down wheel just feels better period. That being said, the 4pl has a great feel to it, best trigger in the industry and the grip is very ergonomic. Still a great radio and i'm very satisfied with my choice.

Now does the 4pl feel like the 3pl? I mean to me the 3pl feels like a toy from walmart.
