Well here is my review. I recently wanted to purchase a bargain priced esc for my extra car. I read and read and read about all the options and weighed my options based on local availability also. I purchased a LRP Super Spin from my local Hobby People for 84 bucks after tax. When I got it home I honestly was disappointed. Man this thing is cheap looking. Some nice features like the on/off switch located on the esc and the anodized heat sink, but still cheap looking. The wires are 16 gauge which I thought might be too small but upon research online about current ability I found that it is more than ok. I cut off the Deans plug and installed battery bullets and used the existing motor connectors for a bullet to solder in extensions to reach the motor(I am not a fan of connectors). Mounted in the B4.175 the esc doesn't look as cheap as pulling it out of the box, but the wires sure look different from the small size compared to my LRP Super Stock in my other buggy. So I mated this esc with a Novak 13.5 first to see what a slight mod motor could do with this thing. Smooth is the word. Controllable is another. After playing with gearing and getting to a point where I thought the gearing could nuke the motor from heat, it still ran cool! 33-75 was the happy spot for the 13.5 and it temped at 122 after a 8 min run with the esc at 93 degrees. Next was to try a 17.5 Reedy and surprise, same result. Smooth and controllable. A few others gave it some laps and gave it the thumbs up too. I ran this Reedy mated to my other LRP and by no means was it at any disadvantage with the cheaper esc, I think I might like it a bit better. So the LRP Super Spin gets a good review from me. It is a good bang for the buck and competitive too. Very easy to set up and only 3 things you can adjust, true plug and play.
