Default First Lipo. Charge?

I picked up a Wraith 2 weeks ago. This is my first electric car. I picked up a Hobby People 2s 4000mah Lipo 2 days ago. I have a Hyperion charger.

I want to be clear on charging. I charged it once at 4000. Hobby People site says it can be charged at up to 3c. Does this mean I can charge it at up to 12000?
I dont know if this question sounds retarded. I dont want to mess the battery up but if I can charge a lot faster, I'd like to

Also:
I read that the battery should not go less than 80% discharged. How do i know when it's at that point?
The charger has a Dicharge option. When would I manually discharge a battery? the manual does not explain much very well.

Set ur charger to charge to 4000 mah, and ur esc should have whats called lipo cutout that will cut power when your battery gets to too low of voltage. You never really should use the discharge function for lipos.

Just read some more. Sounds like 1c will ensure a long life. I think i'll stick with that.

Thanks for the discharge info. yes, the Axial ESC has a Lipo cutoff. Assuming the guy who had it before me didnt set it to 'off'.

Balance every 10 or so charges?

For your question above, the "C" charge rate means how many amps you are charging your battery at. For a 1C charge on a 4000mah battery that would be 4 amps. For a 3C charge you are at 12 amps on a 4000mah battery.

If you're serious about learning everything about lipos read the two links below (the second link is pulled from the first post of the first link). This will teach the basics all the way up to most advanced (Owner of Revolectrix even chimes in on some "myths" about lipos). Very good read.
