Default dumb question in search of easy quick answer

I just got a new mgt 8.0. It came with a 2.4 radio system. I don't run it far from where i stand. Do i need to have the antenna out of the body? I do airplanes and with a 2.4 system with no antenna i can go quite a distance.

I've pretty much never had an antenna out of the body since I got a 2.4 system. They run as far as I need to with it like that. Usually I just gently coil it up and zip tie it. On my touring cars, I have it in the antenna tube, but bend the tube under the body. If you coil it or whatever, just make sure to not bend the exposed tip of the antenna.
