Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd post in this one.

A month ago or so, the cap blew on my RS Pro. It had been sitting plugged in for 10-15 seconds getting ready to race and it just blew, like a firecracker!

Then or possibly before I had been having a weak transponder signal and been missing laps. I tried my Mamba Pro and that took care of the transponder issue, but I didn't like the feel of it.

Raced today with the RS Pro again (no cap), weak transponder again, then finally the RS Pro stopped working.

Now it is showing "bad motor/esc" code, the two outside lights on each side flashing. It still seems to supply power to the servo and it will "beep" the motor during throttle calibration, but no power to motor. I've tried several motors on it and have confirmed with the Mamba Pro that those motors still work.

It will still communicate with the Hotwire, and I did the "factory reset" but still the same two outside lights flash.

Is this a send it in situation?

Thanks

Added interesting diagnostic:

Disconnect the B motor wire and then the ESC will start up properly when turned on. Then reconnect the B wire and the motor will start if it's initial position happens to be right (Seems to be 3 out of 6 positions).

This is out of warranty. Is the repair cost the "replacement" cost only or does it vary on what needs to be replaced?

Negative! You only need to re calibrate your radio after upgrading software. You do NOT have to radio calibrate after making adjustments.

First you MUST not run the esc without a capacitor, it's listed in the directions.

At this point it looks like you've damaged some fets and the unit will require repair/replacement.

That info can be found here: www.teamtekin.com/service.html
