Default chargers

I am basically new to the sport. I currently have a sc truck with a nimh battery. I may enventually upgrade to a more current type battery-lipo,life, etc. I may also get more vehicles. I have an old 1 amp trickle charger that someone gave me. I am looking to get a charger that can charge any type of battery faster then my old charger. I am looking at the onyx chargers. they seam to be the best bang for the buck, especially for new people like me. Are they good chargers. I was looking at the 245. Is the best for the money and ease of use? Would I need or want a daul charger like that or would a charger that charges 1 at a time be fine for me? Open to suggestions. Thanks.

+1 For the Thunder AC6. Perfect beginner charger. There are many, many, many chargers based on the same guts as this one in a slightly different case. The Thunder and the Tenergy versions seem to be the most solid.

That being said, you'd be perfectly happy with the onyx 245 as well. That thing is solid. I bought a similar one - the onyx 235 (same charger but only 1 port) for my brother who doesn't know much about R/C and just wants to bash. If you are going to race, I'd get the dual. I wish I would have gotten a dual one right away. If you're just having fun in the street or whatever, a dual is probably just a 'nice to have' and not a necessity.
