High Voltage servos. 7955's are not rated for high voltage but work just fine. No regulator necessary.

Just to let you know the 7954 are the HV servo and can be run off of lipo direct. Chief Aircraft is selling them for $79.99 the 7955 will run off a LiFe pack straight with no worries.

will they work fine with my current stock NIMH battery if I only replace the steering servo for now and not the throttle?

They will work fine off a 5 cell Nimh battery. I actually run on 7954 and one 7955 off of a 5 cell nimh. I think both the 7955 and 7954 run at 333oz tourqe and .15 speed on nimh. Funny thing is the 7955 is $89 and the 7954 is $79.

There is nothing in a 7955 that can't handle 8.4 volts.

Been running 7955's at 8.4 for years. My most reliable piece of RC gear.

The 7950 is truely HV if you're picky.
