Default Orion Vortex R10 pro sensor cable to motor advantage?

I can't find any info what does the sensor cable from the ESC to a orion vortex vst motor any benefit/advantage compare to plug only the 3 motor wire?

I finishing my new b44.2 build and wondering if I need to plug this cable witch are bit annoying in term of space available...

The motors' sensor and it's cable is what completes the feedback loop that allows the ESC to operate properly. Without it, your motor will likely cog and throttle response will be imprecise. In other words, yes, you need it.
