Most companies QC by checking packs randomly within a batch. Maybe 1 in 10 packs for example. There may be companies that check them all, but that is a bit over kill and will bring up the price.

I believe it. I just bought a RevTech 100c shortie and connected it to my charger as soon as I got it to find that the polarity is reversed. Meaning when the pack was made someone connected the neg to the positive lead and the positive to the negative lead within the pack. Tell me how that gets past QC!!??

Good thing I didn't connect it right to my buggie, I am assuming it would have smoked my speedo.......

This is from their Facebook yesterday.

"Another delay due to Chinese export control is delaying the shipment until next week. It's getting harder and harder to ship Lipos out of China so the suppliers have to adapt to the new regulations which is creating the latest delays. I will post the date as soon as I have the tracking number."

This is on his FB page today.

SMC Shipment Updates
We finally have a tracking number for one of our shipments. This shipment will arrive on April 1st and orders can start shipping on the 2nd. We will do our best to process orders in 48 hours as we expect a high amount of orders.

Here are the models coming in this shipment:

4340-3S1PT
5040-2S1PT
5040-2S1P
6560-2S2P
6560-2S2PD
6560-2S2PT
6560-4S2P

Due to tougher shipping regulations on Lipos we have our Race Formula 70C shipment delayed. We will send out an update as soon as we now the exact date of arrival. We're increasing our order sizes constantly but we are also committed to supplying our customers with the best and freshest packs possible so we must be careful on order quantities for each model. Thank you for your patience and support and we should have a better grasp on keeping up with supply in the coming months.

p.s. i think that means you can start ordering on april 8th (after me)..

and if you believe that, then you should also vote on the SECOND tuesday in november..

AND, start 3 seconds AFTER the tone..

Can someone comment on the differences between the factory spec and race formula batteries? I know the latter has lower IR, but would that really matter (and be noticed) by a club racer driving a sct4x4?

There will certainly be a difference in your Mugen conversion. A light SC10 4x... probably not, but a 6.5lb (ish) truck, yes.

At least the 6500 but I get no sag from the 7200 through a 7 min main... can't say the same for my reedy 6500. No puff from the 7200 either.

The Race Formula pack come from what Danny says is the best Lipo Manufacturer and uses the highest quality Materials in the construction of the packs. The Factory spec packs come from what he feels is the second best manufacturer and still uses good materials in the packs, just not to the same high standards as the first one.
That being said the factory spec packs are still very good cells and better than most out there as it is. Most of us "Club" racers will never know the difference.....LOL
