Thanks for letting me know your shorty's will fit in a stadium truck or short course truck.

But I was asking because the 4400 shorty that I purchsed last week doesn't fit with the foam on the inside of the battery compartment of the b5m buggy.

Thanks

The pack will not even slide into the battery compartment.

If I hold it up side by side with the reedy the Smc is about 2mm longer.

That's why I ask if guys are using the foam strips on the sides.

I hate to cut the out if the pack still will not fit. Because the reedy pack I use fits perfect with them.

I tried to put it in a few times. After doing so it just "bunches" the foam down and pack never sits flat in the chassis enough that the back part of the carbon brace will not slide in to its slot.

I took some pics so maybe that will help. This is with the pack just sitting no forcing it in.

Take those foams off from the sides....

Hoese37 08-31-2015 02:54 PM

Take the foam out, and glue it to your Reedy pack.

That's what I was wondering. If the Smc pack works with out the foam installed.

If the Smc packs fit with out the foams and don't bind the chassis.

I have no problem removing the foams and getting one more Smc pack and sell/give away the Reedy

I just didn't want to remove them and then the pack not fit.

Thanks for the help.

wiring up new esc and going to use bullet connectors to hook up the battery never used anything other than deans plugs before but would it hurt to have the +/- battery wires different lengths from the esc to battery? just to clean it up a bit and not have a lot of extra.

My apologies if this question has been asked already. I did a quick search but didn't see this question. Is there any way to get the 4S battery packs with 4mm or 5mm inboard connectors? I've moved away from plug type connectors on all of my vehicles because its just another point for possible failure. On all my 1/10 and 1/8 vehicles I now run bullets from the ESC to the inboard ports of my batteries. For 1/8 at the moment I'm running the Reedy 4S 4600 mAh packs with the inboards, but would love to switch over to SMC for the quality+price.

No issue at all. Although, if you have multiple packs from various manufacturers... the plugs may be on opposite sides from pack to pack (since there is no "standard")

In all honesty, youre going to have a hell of a time finding a 4s pack with bullet connectors. There is nothing wrong with the plug style connections, its just moved the point of possible connection failure from the pack itself, to the wires two inches away.

The only one I know of (not to say there aren't others) is the AssociatedReedy pack (5mm bullets).

I see that Protek has one as well now. Bullets are still a fad thing I believe. Gives a cleaner look.
