I've been getting allot of questions about the current 70C packs being offered at a lower price due to the IR being higher.

First of all not all cells are the same within a batch. I assume the factory sorts out the cells and they must of had a bunch of higher IR cells and built our last shipment with these cells. The cells are still the same good cells built with high end materials. In most applications these packs will run very well. In fact the IR is similar to most packs on the market so if you want a 6500 or 7200 pack the current pricing for this batch is very good. Only the high end packs of reputable companies may have better IR than these and I doubt others test like we do as most of them get packs packaged by the factories.

I decided to do what I felt is right as I don't want a customer who has bought one of these packs in the past to get a new one and feel it has a bit less punch. Also I promote these as the best packs on the market as I truly believe this but with the IR being higher this isn't true so I decided to drop the price and offer them as out of specs.

The easy thing to do would of been to not say anything and just say that not all batches are the same but my goal is to make sure we offer what we say we offer.

And that right there is why I started this thread, I hope everyone else helps spread the word about this thread and sends their friends to smc's website for all their Lipo purchases. I talked to alot of people at a new track I went to this weekend and when I told them what I paid for my packs they were shocked, I even let one guy that asked use one of my new packs for practice between rounds, he had a $110 dollar pack(brand spanking new), he said he wished he could send it back so he could buy acouple of danny's for the same price, I have a feeling he will be ordering soon since I out qualified him....LOL

Keep up the god work Danny.

Looking for a couple of racers to test some of our higher IR 6500-70C and 7200-70C packs. I will offer these at cost in exchange for a report on how the packs perform. My goal is to let everyone know that these packs are great packs at a great price.

Will only offer a few packs of each model for this special test/feedback.

If your interested email me. [email protected]

Thanks guys already have as many guys as I need to get this testing done.

Hope to have the 4600-70C short case back in stock by the first week of December.

With the current Thanksgiving 10% discount code listed on the homepage of our site the 6500-70C with higher IR is at the same price I offered to those who want to test them. The 7200-70C is only 2 dollars more after the discount.

My goal is to show to show to everyone that these are still great packs especially for the price.

I have an issue, tried using your TG2012 discount code to purchase some lipo's and I'm signed into my account and it says applied, yet no actual discount was taken out.....????

Danny/SMC 11-22-2012 05:17 PM

I had the same issue yesterday when trying to use the discount without login. I then logged in and it worked. Not sure what is creating this issue. Just place the order and I will send back 10% via paypal as I doubt I can figure out how to fix this by myself and my web guy is most likely not available.

Danny/SMC 11-22-2012 05:28 PM

Got it fixed I think. For those who have placed orders and the discount didn't work I will send the 10% via Paypal.

Just wanted to say that I had a chance to try one of your "high IR" 7200mah 2s packs in my SCTE today (thanks, Wes!) and I have to say that it was an absolute rocketship.

It put the Turnigy 6600 and Gens Ace 5k's I've been running to absolute shame.

Just ordered myself up a couple. From one businessman to another, thank you for being up front, straightforward and fair.

Danny/SMC 11-26-2012 06:30 AM

Glad to hear that and if guys like these packs I believe it will take the factory a few weeks to resolve the IR issue and get us packs back to the expected spec. This means we can bring in some more and offer the lower price as I know this are still some good packs.

On another note how do you know the 7200 you tried is the higher IR one and not one of the lower IR ones ?

I don't want you to be disappointed so I hope you really did try a higher IR one.

Hey Danny,
Thanks for the opportunity to try out your 6500 60C 4s packs! I'm all about the feedback! If they run my car as fast as your company's shipping, I'll be happy!

Waiting on a new motor to arrive for practice on Wednesday, and after I get a handle on the new setup, I'll be posting some thoughts.

Looking forward to more feedback especially on how they hold up to real world use. This is always what worries me with cheaper priced packs as in theory something has to give.

I do very good machine testing but I don't think that this does the exact same thing as real world use.

Hey Danny, I Just got home from traveling. 4s was waiting on me. I will run some cycles on Sat. I have been playing catch up all day. I will e-mail you soon.

Hi Guys. I would like to better understand what customers want for packs and care about as this would help me better understand what we need to offer. My goal is to have a pack for every ones needs.

One thing I noticed on the cheaper packs we offer like the non Race Formula packs the IR range isn't very consistent and some packs aren't very well matched for IR. As a perfectionist this upsets me but at the same time these style packs are being sold by many others and it seems like customers don't know or care about this.

I'm ready to order more packs from the cheaper supplier as these sell well.

Should I sort out the packs and offer a 5 dollar discount on the packs that are higher in IR or not matched very well ? I need to move all packs so we can't sit on them so I need to know if some of you would buy a pack at 5 dollars less that isn't as perfect as the ones at full price. I could increase the pack by 5 dollars and offer a 10 discount on the packs that are out of spec.

I could also not care and just sell them like everyone else does with as I don't see anyone doing or offering what I want to do but to me this would be tough to do as I care.

I believe I'm my worst enemy as I want perfect packs but in the end if the price goes down something has to give and there are reasons why one pack costs 20 dollars more than another one.

Thanks for your feedback on this matter.
