Default rc controller for a Quadriplegic?

Ok so my buddy is a quadriplegic and took up driving after his accident that happened five years ago. From the first time I saw him drive (even though he was content with what he had) I felt unconformable do to the controller being mounted stationary and him not being able to turn his head side to side.So I thought to myself I am going to think of a ideal that will allow him full movement side to side and not obstruct his view of the track! It took about a month and a half to think of,build, test, and track approved by him before I got it done.the four times I have had it at the track In was amazed at the positive feed back I got after people watched him drive and then came over to see what he was using. So If anyone that is a quadriplegic or you know a quadriplegic that drives rc cars or wants to take up the wonderful hobby of rc cars then hit me up and maybe we can set up your controller or set one up for you like the one i built. Thanks and hope to hear from you!

Would love to see what you did to the controller. Do you have pix? I've seen this model put to use in oval racing for someone that only has fine motor skills in one hand...

Sorry about no pics I am gunna work on that! What I did was mount a two channel switch to I guess you could call it a type of head gear so he is able to turn his head side to side and dose not effect him using his chin to control the car and then wired it to a Sektrum Dx3S that hangs to the side of him on his chair!

Larry,
Thats cool, hope hes still going. I was thinking about getting into R/C (<---noob) and also a quad.
Do you know how I can "split" a transmitter? Id like to put throttle on left side & steering on right side of my chair. would like to just put an extension on the thumb levers basically. Id really like throttle controled by bite, but have big ol controller stuck to my head. maybe two hinged sticks with a cable lever type thing. Anyone have an idea? Thanks!
