Default RX-461 - cut wire

Hi, i got my mt-4 the other day and was really excited about it, so i just double sided taped my receiver and didn't worry about my antenna. Dumb move! Most of the top bit got sliced off by my drive train ( the whole clear bit and a little bit of the black bit). My range is now like 20 meters. Do i have to go and buy a whole new receiver or is their something else i can do to fix this? This doesn't effect me (distance wise) at the track as my car is always close to me but will it effect response time? Also is the wire a coax wire?
Thanks

Not an exact answer for you, but it will work fine for a track condition (lower range requirement than bashing). I've done the same to one of my rx-461 and I only had about 1cm of wire left, still worked as if nothing happened.

Cautionary tale...I then tried to repair the wire...I can no longer use that receiver.

So, just leave it as is. You'll most likely be fine. I certainly didn't notice any drop off in response rate.
